When using SuperMicro IPMI hardware, it's extremely touchy on the order things are setup in for the ipmi module to get a valid dhcp lease. If you plug in the ipmi module network interfaces before the power cables, the ipmi system will get a valid ip address. We've always had issues when plugging in the power cables before the network interfaces.
